Helsana Sustainability Report 2023

Foreword

The sustainability of the healthcare system is increasingly moving into the spotlight of social debate. We want to use our products and services to make a sustainable contribution to our customers’ health. For us, sustainability in a healthcare context essentially means an efficient, closely coordinated, high-quality and affordable healthcare system. This includes integrated care models, prevention, digitalisation and new remuneration systems. This is something we are committed to – together with all Helsana employees.

But sustainability is not something that we only want to address through our insurance products and services. We also want to make an impact in a broader sense and live up to our responsibility towards society, our employees, the economic climate and the environment.

This year marks the first time we are reporting on our commitment to sustainability. We have been laying the foundations that allow us to do so over the last two years. We will now be firmly establishing sustainability at all levels within the company and stepping up our dialogue with all stakeholder groups. As we continue to develop our sustainability strategy, we are guided by the needs of our stakeholders and Helsana’s long-term, sustainable success. In addition to our core business, this includes addressing sustainability as an employer and as an investor. We set the first specific quantitative targets in these two areas, and with respect to the environment, in the reporting year.

Our sustainability report provides transparency not only regarding our commitment but also regarding the progress we have made in the various aspects of sustainability. We look forward to taking you with us as we progress on our journey towards a more sustainable future.
